101 Dalmatians Comes to Disney Blu-Ray For the First Time EVer

Here in my house, we know what it's like to have a zoo. Okay, not a zoo, per-se, but we have multiple cats AND dogs...It seems that we can't go far without having a fur-baby or 3 underfoot! 

So when I learned that Disney was releasing one of our favorites, "101 Dalmatians" for the first time EVER on Disney Blu-Ray, I was definitely pretty excited. This classic film made its debut in 1961. That's before my mom was born! Or, as my kids would put it, "in ancient times." Although animation has come leaps and bounds since the 60's, this adventurous tale has stood the test of time, and is much loved by generations of Disney fans.


Can you really blame us for loving this film? It's the next best thing to actually having a zoo, but without all of the poop and chewed up sneakers. I love my pets, but I don't always love the mischief that comes along with them. 

On February 10th, Disney opened their secret vault, and released "101 Dalmatians" like you've never seen it before. It has been beautifully remastered, and even offers plenty of fun bonus features that the whole family will enjoy.

Our Thoughts:
Of course, we already knew would would love this movie. So that goes without saying. Who doesn't love this amazing tale of adventure, family, and of course, puppy love? 


My kids especially love seeing Cruella DeVille being undermined by a collection of furry friends, all trying to save the dalmatians from a dubious fate. Come on Cruella, don't you know it's SO 1980's to wear fur? 


The Blu-Ray definitely gave this movie a brand new feel. Sure, it's the classic film we all know and love, but the colors are brighter, crisper, and definitely a step up from the original film. 


We also enjoyed all of the wonderful bonus features. From taking a deeper look into the making of "101 Dalmatians" to "The Further Adventures of Thunderbolt", there's plenty of fun for the whole family, even after the movie is finished. 


My only warning? Don't watch this movie when your dogs are around. There is a LOT of barking, and well....this caused my real-life fur-babies to go completely and utterly insane. Which was cute.....At first. Don't say I didn't warn you!
