***Disclosure: I received complimentary samples to facilitate my review. No other compensation was provided, and all opinions are 100% honest and have not been influenced in any way.*** Spring is here, and before you know it, Easter will be, too. I know I am having a great time coming up with creative gifts and activities for my kids. I am trying to convince Dan that he needs to wear a bunny suit and hide eggs throughout the yard. (Wish me luck!) I know a ton of people love this time of year because of all the chocolatey treats that line the store shelves. I, however, am weird. You see, I don't eat candy and really don't care for chocolate, either. (Yes, I am human. I promise.) So around Easter, my husband always surprises me with a fun, non-candy gift. He doesn't have to, of course. He's just cool like that. Now he is a typical man, so unless I want to get a new ratchet set or weed eater, I have to throw a few hints his way. One great non-edible gift idea for Easter, or any time of year, is a candle from Jewelry In Candles. These candles are made from a clean-burning, eco-friendly 100% soy wax, and they come in some amazingly delicious scents. If you love food-scented candles, you've GOT to check out their Guilty Pleasures Collection. Cinnamon, Birthday Cake and Chocolate Fudge Candles in a bundle? Yes, please! If food isn't your thing, there are plenty of clean, relaxing scents, too. But the best part about Jewelry In Candles? (Other than the fact that they smell amazing, of course!) Hidden inside each candle or tart, there is a piece of beautiful jewelry, just waiting to be unveiled. You've got to burn the candle down to get to it, of course. Trust me. Once you smell these candles, no one will have to twist your arm there! I recently received a Banana Nut Bread Jewelry In Candles candle from Cassie McNabb, an independent Jewelry In Candles representative. My candle arrived with lightning speed, and was very well packaged. As soon as I popped the sturdy glass lid off of my candle, I started drooling. No, really. There was a puddle on the kitchen floor. The kids slipped in it. That's another post entirely, though. Seriously, though....The scent was absolutely decadent. It really does smell like freshly baked, warm banana nut bread. When Dan got home from work, he mistakenly thought I had been baking. Poor guy! This candle also burns incredibly cleanly, leaving no soot or residue behind. The wax also has a nice, long life to it. Each candle actually provides 100-150 hours of burn time. Pretty impressive, right? Of course being a woman, I like things that sparkle and shine. I was very eager to see what my jewelry surprise would be! With Jewelry In Candles, you can choose between several different jewelry types, such as rings in your size, necklaces, and even earrings! If you're feeling particularly adventurous, you can even choose a random candle and be totally surprised by your hidden treasure! It took several hours, but I finally caught a glimpse of a colorful foil packet. Yippee! I carefully fished out my little package with a butter knife because that's how we roll here. To me, it almost resembles a piece of Easter candy that has been squashed and melted by the sun. Maybe a chocolate egg that has been in the yard a wee bit too long? Anyway. What was inside is way better than any piece of candy! Once I peeled back the foil, I found a teensy-tiny zip-lock bag. Inside, there was a very pretty silver chain with a nice double-heart pendant! This isn't a flimsy dollar store necklace, either. It's got a good bit of weight to it, and I am pleased to say that it didn't turn me green after I showered with it on. Score! Here is a closer look at this necklace. I don't know if there is just a patterned design on the larger of the 2 hearts or if this contains small diamond chips. Either way, it's definitely sparkly and very, very pretty. Wouldn't this make a nice surprise for older girls, teens or women this Easter? Overall, I am absolutely, over-the-moon, beyond thrilled with my Jewelry In Candles experience. The quality of both the candle and the jewelry exceeded my expectations, and I definitely plan on checking out more of their scents. I think the Pecan Pie Candle is calling my name! (Yes, while I don't eat sweets, I LOVE the way they smell...Less calories that way, too!) So if you're looking for a unique gift idea that's sure to delight, definitely check out what Jewelry In Candles has to offer!
