Teens can be a disagreeable bunch, and they're not always too eager to help with the household chores. My son, Kyle, would rather do just about anything than help clean...Even clean up dog doo-doo from the yard. One of his least favorite chores would have to be vacuuming. We have a bulky, overly expensive canister vacuum which admittedly is a major pain in the rear to move from room to room. I can't blame him for running and hiding when it's time for his daily chores. So recently, when I got the opportunity to try the brand new Rocket Ultra-Light Upright vacuum from Shark, I was curious to see how his attitude surrounding housework would be effected, if at all. The Shark Rocket is a pretty amazing little machine, weighing in at under 8lbs, and it harnesses the power of extreme suction to clean better than top selling full-sized vacuums without the added bulk. About the Shark Rocket :The Shark Rocket is a revolutionary ultra-light upright that is incredibly powerful and versatile. It can be used to clean floors like a traditional upright, or it can be used as a handheld vacuum. You can even use the wand to clean hard to reach places like corners, ceilings, blinds, and between couch cushions. (You don't even want to know what we find between our cushions. Yuck!) The Shark Rocket never loses suction or power, and it seamlessly switches from carpeted surfaces to hard surfaces with no extra effort or attachments needed. Here are some simple specs :
A Teen's Take :When I told Kyle I needed his help reviewing a vacuum cleaner, I was immediately met with grumbles and groans. He was not at all excited. But when he got his first glimpse at the Rocket, he perked up a bit and said it looked really "cool", and that he didn't believe a vacuum so lightweight could do a good job. He went to work right away cleaning our family room, which sees the most use out of any space in our home. We have 4 cats, 3 dogs, and 2 preschoolers, so if any room becomes filthy fast, this is it. The Rocket's powerful motor is housed near the handle, making emptying and maneuvering a breeze. The only issue Kyle has expressed having about this design is that it is quite top heavy. If you need to pause during vacuuming, you must rest the unit against a wall or it WILL tip over. This, in my opinion, is well worth the super lightweight design. Check out how much dirt is filling the canister, and this was after only a couple minutes worth of use! The Rocket glides effortlessly over most any surface and even pivots to fit into awkward spaces like under tables and chairs. The path could stand to be a wee bit wider, but it does its job quickly and efficiently since the super strong suction cleans with less passes required than most traditional uprights. To my amazement, Kyle was actually having fun while vacuuming! He turned on some Katy Perry and started dancing around with the Shark Rocket, making it pivot back and forth as he swayed his hips to the tune. Hey, anything that makes cleaning fun is a good plan in my book! I didn't even have to ask him to vacuum our horizontal blinds. The kid wanted to do it. The suction remained incredibly strong and steady but was gentle to the delicate surfaces of our (cheap) blinds. Overall, I am definitely impressed with the Shark Rocket Ultra-Light Upright vacuum. This little machine packs a powerful punch and is able to quickly and effectively deep clean any surface in my home. We have used it on carpets, hardwood, vinyl, stairs, couches, curtains, upholstery, and more. And the fact that it makes my generally combative teen WANT to clean? That makes it worth it's weight in gold....All 8lbs of it. How to Connect :

Choose between upright, canister, cordless & handheld vacuum cleaners with patented cyclone technology that captures more dirt than any other cyclone.
