I am sorry that you took that request negatively. This is actually fairly standard to ask that comments are meaningful or follow instructions. Generally, comments that only say thanks for the giveaway, etc are in fact disqualified. Especially if the instructions state to visit the sponsor's site and tell a product you'd like. Think about it this way: Sponsors are very generous to provide giveaway prizes. It is not unreasonable to request that entrants take the time to visit their site for a minute or two and take a look at what they have to offer, especially when you can potentially get free products by winning. I have personally discovered many products I love by visiting sponsor's sites while entering giveaways. I don't count comments when they don't follow the instructions when choosing winners, and have had to disqualify potential winners and re-draw because their entries were not in accordance with the rules. This is not fair to the many that do play by the rules.
