You know, in 31 years, I don't think I have ever been to the circus. While I did a lot of things as a kid, the circus just wasn't one of them. I remember always being so envious of friends as they told tales of majestic elephants performing tricks, silly clowns, and tightrope walkers and acrobats. I could just picture the fun in my mind, and I always promised myself that should I ever have a family, I would take the kiddos to the circus at least once. Thankfully, the time has come, and I couldn't be more excited! Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey is coming to Youngstown, OH April 5-7, 2013! Youngstown is just a hop, skip and a jump away, so we will definitely be taking the kids to be amazed. April 5th is my 5 year wedding anniversary, too, so it should make for a fun celebration for our family. Take a look at this video highlighting just a few of the fantastic features of the show : How cool is that?! I have always been absolutely amazed by the skill and athleticism it takes to perform such feats. I can't even do a cartwheel, so seeing acrobatics has always had me in complete awe! Here are some other things to be seen at Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Built To Amaze: About Built To Amaze : Andre McClain, Ringmaster and America’s favorite cowboy takes the Ringling Bros. reins and accompanied by his horse Comanche, leads his Built To Amaze! funny and mischievous super circus supervisors, to construct The Greatest Show On Earth. A fantastic design with more than 110 of the world’s best performers representing 17 countries along with 95 exotic and domestic animals will be assembled, creating never-before-seen heart pounding performances. Ringling Bros. is thrilled to introduce nine-time international award winning comedic animal presenting duo Alex and Irina Emelin of Russia. Also new to Ringling Bros. is the Tower Tumblers, a troupe of competitive aerial athletes from the Ukraine who launch themselves from trampolines to scale, repel and pass through a three-story high translucent tower. Ringling Bros. brings a spirited and fiery competition of basketball with the next generation of whirling unicyclists, the legendary King Charles Troupe hailing from New York City! I can't wait to witness for the first time the talent and entertainment this circus is known for. I am especially looking forward to seeing the awe on my children's faces as well as plenty of smiles. Please keep in mind, Youngstown is a bit of a drive from the Akron or Cleveland areas, but Built To Amaze will be heading to Cleveland in October, so be sure to keep your eye out for my review to get an idea of what is in store!
