I have a preteen. You know, that odd age range that's not quite a teenager and not quite a child anymore. I remember being his age about a zillion years ago, so I remember how important it was to fit in and find my own personal style. I was a rocker chick, and thinking back now to some of the styles I experimented with, I am more than a little bit mortified. Yep, I dyed my hair funny colors, wore all black, listened to angry growling music that I now consider "noise", and I even had a few piercings. (FYI: All photographic evidence of this awkward phase has been locked away in a vault, never to be seen again!)
Enough about me, though. I'd love to tell you about my 12 year old son, Kyle. Like most kids his age, he is very into image. He wants to be the envy of his friends, and he has a pretty unique style. Kyle couldn't wait to try on his new Zipz shoes. The first thing he commented on, other than the oh-so-awesome design, was the fact that even barefoot, you cannot feel the zippers inside of the shoes. He said that they're very comfortable, with or without socks!
Kyle has been wearing his Zipz all the time. The first day he wore them to school, he came home and told me that everyone fell in love with his new shoes and begged him to tell them where he got them! Girls and boys alike in my town are now craving their own pair of Zipz!
I think a few more uppers will magically show up under our Christmas tree this year so Kyle can change them out whenever he'd like. I think the Bandanaz and Grafeeti styles will be right up his alley. With so many fun choices, maybe we'll get him uppers for every day of the week!
