One of my biggest guilty pleasures is candles. Not just any candle, mind you...They have to smell good. This is an absolute must in my humble opinion. My all-time favorite scents are those that smell like food. I adore fruity scents like apple cinnamon or honeydew melon, and I also love candles that smell like baked goods. One of my all-time faves is a buttercream scent that makes the house smell like I've been baking all day long. Of course my husband hates coming home to such a mouth-watering aroma just to find that there are no goodies to be eaten.

I am a firm believer that one can never have too many candles. I burn them all the time! One of my favorite candle discoveries is Goose Creek Candle Co. Haven't heard of them before? Well, I'd love to help you get better acquainted! Here's some info about the company, taken from their website:

Melvin Meece died too young to fulfill the dream of owning his own business. But with his passing, that seed came alive in his son, Chuck. Today he is living the life his father only dreamed of and passing that spirit on to his own children. From his bustling facility situated atop one of Kentucky’s many flat-topped ridges, Meece and his staff manufacture, market and sell thousands of Goose Creek candles weekly-shipping to customers around the nation and the world. Chuck tested his hand at working for himself early in life. He began a vending business right after graduating high school and spent years looking for a niche to further develop it. He found it during the late ‘90’s, as the “candle craze” was kicking off.

In an effort to add to the vending business, Chuck began producing candles from his home. But he didn’t do it alone. Chuck met his wife Tamara, in high school. Tamara knew Chuck’s desire to work for himself, so she supported his dreams of being a small business owner. While they worked side by side to pursue their hopes and dreams-a home of their own and children, Tamara dreamed of a career in teaching and went to college to earn a degree in elementary education. But as Chuck’s desire increased, Tamara realized this was a thirst that couldn’t be quenched, and the two set out together to make Chuck’s dream a reality.

The next generation of Meece entrepreneurs, sons Micah and Jordan already out of the gate; have both made successful strides within the industry. Goose Creek Candle began operations in 1997 as a sole proprietorship. At that time, they focused solely on hand poured scented candles. The company slowly developed a national marketing representative network, which now covers all the states within the continental U.S., and dozens of other countries across Europe. Today, hundreds of Goose Creek sales reps travel around the country marketing and selling Goose Creek candles. Goose Creek products can be found in thousands of retailers across the U.S. and dozens of countries across Europe.

The awesome folks at Goose Creek Candle Co. generously sent me 2 of their jar candles to review. I chose the Strawberry Rhubarb (since my husband is a rhubarb freak!) and the Maple Toddy scented candles. These are both part of the American Heirloom Collection. It is an early 1900’s Victorian multi-sided style jar with beautiful polished silver embossed lids. The jar is exclusive to Goose Creek and is available in three sizes. These candles are the strongest on the market. Clean burning; elegant fragrances set Goose Creek apart from any other brand.

The candles arrived very quickly and were incredibly well-packaged. This is SO important when ordering candles online. One time, I ordered a candle from a huge company that shall remain nameless just to have it arrive completely shattered. What a disappointment! At Goose Creek Candle Co, this will never be an issue since the staff is completely committed to making sure customers receive their candles intact.

We have been burning our candles a lot lately, as you can see from the photos below. These candles burn very cleanly and come with 2 wicks to ensure an even burn. The smell? Heavenly! Goose Creek candles are made from the highest quality ingredients and the scents are very potent without being overpowering.

I love the Strawberry Rhubarb. It smells just like the real thing! Just imagine entering the room and being surrounded by the aroma of freshly picked strawberries and tart rhubarb. Is your mouth watering yet? Mine sure is! The Maple Toddy scented candle is amazing, too. It's rich and buttery smelling, and has sweet notes of buttery toasted pecans, dark rum, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, clove and brown sugar. This is the ideal scent for relaxing on a chilly autumn evening.

Overall, I am very impressed with the quality of the candles from Goose Creek. Dare I say, they actually rival the one huge company I'm sure you've all heard of....Yep...That one. Goose Creek offers so many delicious scents and several different candle styles that are sure to fit into any decor. They even have seasonal offerings like Pumpkin candles, Halloween candles, and even centerpiece candles perfect for all of your Holiday gatherings. They also have room sprays and auto cards to round out their sweet-smelling collection!

I will definitely be ordering more Goose Creek candles. The next scents on my list include Whipped Pumpkin Latte and Spice Cake. Yum!
