You may recall a few days ago I told you about a great, interactive charitable campaign going on over at EcoTools. The EcoTools Gives Back campaign is helping 3 important causes: The Jane Goodall Institute, Ocean Conservancy, and The Conservation Fund. All 3 of these worthy organizations are dedicated to helping wildlife thrive by preserving the beauty that planet Earth has to offer. Help EcoTools choose which charity receives most of their very generous donation. The donation will be divided based on total votes from YOU! Vote up to 5 times per day for your favorite cause by going to the EcoTools Facebook Page. You can even share with your friends on Facebook for 5 additional votes! I am very excited about this initiative to protect our environment, and I have been voting myself! Not only do I love the fact that EcoTools is a company with a conscience, I also love their eco-friendly beauty and bath tools! This amazing company has a fabulous line of greener cosmetic tools using only earth-friendly materials like bamboo, and they even come with reusable cases made from sustainable materials. Their bath tools are equally awesome, and many are made from recycled plastic! Oh, I should also mention that they have some super-chic and flirty cosmetic bags, too! A little birdy told me that some of these great products are designed by Alicia Silverstone! How cool is that?! The folks at EcoTools are also committed to being 100% cruelty-free, so all of you animal lovers out there can breathe a sigh of relief. No furry (or feathered!) friends are ever harmed in any way during the testing or manufacturing process of EcoTools products. Recently, the generous folks at EcoTools sent me a few of their products to try for myself. I received the oh-so-luxurious Bamboo Finishing Kabuki Brush and their new Touch Up Set! All of these products came beautifully packaged and I couldn't wait to open them. Take a look at all of these great bamboo brushes! The first thing I noticed about EcoTools cosmetic brushes, other than the gorgeous bamboo handles, was the softness of the brushes. Oh. My. Goodness. It's unlike anything I have ever experienced when it comes to make-up brushes. They are as soft as fur, but since they're made from taklon, there is no worry of animal cruelty or allergic reactions. The Bamboo Finishing Kabuki gives you a light finish while the contoured bamboo handle gives you an easy grip. Make-up gets evenly distributed on the bristles almost effortlessly, allowing you to avoid messes and waste less product. The bristles feel amazing against the skin, and apply product to the face very effectively. Stow your finishing brush in our zip-top reusable pouch when you're done! I also love the Touch Up Set! This set comes in an adorable hemp/cotton carry pouch, and includes everything you need to achieve a flawless face, even on the go! Again, these brushes are wonderfully soft and are very effective at applying make-up such as powder, blush, bronzer, eyeshadow or mineral foundation. The set includes:
Overall, I adore my EcoTools cosmetic brushes. I have actually thrown away my old brushes, since they simply cannot compare. I love that these brushes are eco-friendly, and I love how they feel against my skin. They're also very easy to clean, easy to store, and are highly portable. EcoTools gets an A+++ from this earth-friendly Beauty Junkie!

I follow the Three R's, especially reuse. When we use paper towels, for example, unless they are wet or totally disgusting, I fold them and save them in a box. Then, when I need to clean up a spill I use the previously soiled towels. It makes a roll go MUCH further!

I had an energy audit on my home, and got an energy effecient water heater, energy star appliances, new insulated windows, and added insulation to my house. I try to reuse things, and am learning about upcycling. I turn out most of the lights in my house when I am not in the room. I try to conserve water, and use energy effecient light bulbs. I try to learn new ways to improve.

I turn off lights around the house, I had an energy audit, and changed my water heater, refrigerator, washer and dryer, windows. I try to be careful with water. And I reuse what I can, and am learning more about upcycling.
