Now that the G is for Green event is underway, I am super excited to share so many eco-conscious companies and products with you all. Who knew it was so simple to live a greener life, even with kids? While my focus has been primarily on going green with baby so far, I promised some treats just for you mamas out there, and today I plan on delivering! I have to say, my next sponsor is one of my absolute favorite brands for simple, yet elegantly styled, eco-friendly clothing. Yala was born in 1987 by a pair of adventurous English teachers living and working abroad in China. They were also raising their young daughter. They accidentally created the Dream Sack while they were overseas, and by 1996, a family company was born. Yala Designs is a company with strong commitments to their customers as well as to the environment. Yala believes in going green, all the way down to the shipping of their products. They use electric trucks to provide a more carbon neutral shipping method. How cool is that?! Another thing I love about Yala is that they are members of the Organic Trade Association, and their Bamboo Dreams apparel and bedding are Oeko-Tex certified. Yala, while well-known for their soft, luxurious bamboo bedding, specializes in so much more than that. They carry clothing for men, women, and children alike, and they also have a wide variety of must-have travel solutions and gorgeous accessories. I am always finding something new to drool over each time I browse the Yala website. While I love their bedding, the star of the show for me has got to be the clothing. I adore clothing made from organic cotton or bamboo. These materials are kinder to the skin since they're free of chemicals, and they feel absolutely amazing. Bamboo is probably the softest, most velvety feeling materials on the planet. And it's fast growing and completely sustainable! You've got to love that! I am in love with pretty much all of the organic clothing Yala has to offer, and would love to show you some of my favorite pieces. The awesome folks at Yala sent me their beautiful Bamboo Dreams Julia Dress. I received the Julia Dress in a gorgeous, rich shade of blue that they like to call Bayou. This color is so unique, and it fits the simple, elegant style of the dress perfectly. The Bamboo Dreams Julia Dress is basically perfect in every way. It is made from a super-soft 95% Bamboo Viscose-5% Spandex blend, and it feels so silky against the skin. The Julia is also universally flattering, featuring an elastic waist, faux wrap skirt, and crossover bodice. Petite or plus sized, the Julia is made for YOUR body! Add a cute belt or a Yala Skinny scarf around the waist, and this dress goes from day to night effortlessly! I have worn this dress several times now. I have paired it with a cute blazer for a parent-teacher conference, and I have worn it on its own while playing at the park and grocery shopping. It is incredibly comfortable, doesn't lose its shape, and definitely makes a statement. I have gotten so many compliments on the Julia Dress from other moms or just friendly passers-by. My husband really loves it, too! He says it's flirty and seductive without being sleazy. This dress enhances my curves without putting them out on display. This is the perfect amount of sexy, if you ask me! After all, I am 30 years old and the mother of 3 children. Long gone are the days that I let my "gals" hang out for all the world to see. This dress is also very easy to care for. This dress is machine washable, and looks fabulous right out of the dryer. Bamboo really is a very easy to maintain fabric, and I have noticed that all of my bamboo clothing looks brand new, even after a year of regular wear and tear. Oh, I should probably mention that Bamboo also possesses natural, anti-microbial properties and can even help combat odors! Like I said...Miracle fabric! That's part of what makes organic clothing so wonderful! Overall, I have loved my experience with Yala Designs. Their quality is unsurpassed, and they also provide fantastic customer service. You really do get the impression that this is a proud, family owned company. They treat each customer like a respected friend. Add to that the fact that Yala is dedicated to preserving the planet we call home, and you've got a winning combination. Great products, great service, and a nicer world for my kids to grow up in...It just doesn't get much better than that!
