While I have been cloth-diapering for well over a year now, there are still a few brands I haven't had the pleasure of trying. GroVia was one of them, until now! I know a few cloth-diapering mamas that absolutely swear by GroVia diapers, so I have always been curious as to what makes these diapers so coveted. The nice folks at Baby Belle Bottoms recently gave me the opportunity to try the GroVia AIO, and I couldn't have been more excited to see what all the fuss was about! Before I get into the details of the GroVia AIO cloth diaper, I would love to tell you more about Baby Belle Bottoms. Baby Belle Bottoms a great online retailer that is dedicated to helping families cloth diaper through education, product support and timely delivery of high quality cloth diapering products. They strive to make their customers happy and treat them with honesty and respect. We have been selling many of the same products for 8 years and know them well. What does this mean for you? Fabulous customer service and a knowledgeable staff that is always there to answer any questions you might have about a product, cloth-diapering, and more! Speaking of more, Baby Belle Bottoms has recently been introduced to EC (elimination communication), or going diaper-free. They are excited to share this amazing way to communicate with infants. EC is another great and practical alternative to disposables for many families. I must admit, this is a totally new concept to me, and I am unsure of how EC works exactly. But Baby Belle Bottoms has a great web reference to help parents learn more about EC, linking to some of the most comprehensive sites on the web. They even carry a variety of products to make elimination communication easier for families who choose to try this method. Baby Belle Bottoms has narrowed their selection of cloth diapering, EC and potty training products to those they feel provide their customers with an excellent value, are easy to use, top rated and are made by outstanding manufactures with great warranties. They further select for products made in the USA, made ethically and made with certified organic materials when possible. At Baby Belle Bottoms, they take the guesswork out of the picture by selling only the best products that have been carefully selected for their high quality. This is something that I appreciate as a mom. With zillions of products available to cloth-diapering families, it can be difficult choosing the right products for my babies. Not all diapers are created equal, and I have had to learn that the hard way. When I first made the decision to make the switch to cloth, I made the huge mistake of ordering a large diaper lot on EBay. I was attracted to the low price. Well, they ended up being mass produced diapers from China that had the most awful wing-droop I have ever encountered. Some of the snaps didn't even line up properly! I learned my lesson right away! Since the folks at Baby Belle Bottoms have such strict quality standards, when I shop with them, I know I am always getting a great product. I was thrilled to receive a GroVia AIO Cloth Diaper in their chic Cloud color for my review. Like I said, this is one of the few brands I hadn't tried yet, and I have heard wonderful things about GroVia on parenting sites, group forums, and from cloth-diapering friends. Most of the reviews I have read have been about the GroVia AI2 or Hybrid diapers, so I was excited to learn they also offer an AIO (all-in-one) version as well. I happen to love AIO's, since they're so convenient. No stuffing, no doublers needed, just put it on baby and you're good to go! I have found that AIO's are very Daddy friendly since they act just like a disposable, and this also makes them a great choice for daycare or babysitters who may not be cloth-savvy! The GroVia AIO is specially designed to fit babies from around 10-35lbs. These diapers provide a very trim fit, due to the fact that they have a unique system utilizing side-snaps and stretchy wings, always ensuring the perfect fit. The inner of the GroVia is very soft, and made from ultra-absorbent organic cotton. The soaker pad is built into the diaper, and you can even add an extra snap-in soaker for overnights, older babies, and heavy wetters. The outer shell of the diaper is made from a soft layer of TPU, making it quite water resistant. No covers needed! The GroVia is designed to grow with your baby, making it an ideal choice from 10lbs all the way to potty training. To use on smaller babies, there are convenient rise snaps that can be snapped down to get the proper fit, all without taking away from the trim fit that side-snapping diapers are known for. I happen to love trim fitting, side-snap diapers since I can comfortably fit my babies' pants over them without encountering "fluff-butt syndrome", which occurs so often with bulkier diapers. Take a look at the GroVia AIO Cloth Diaper: Cool features and good looks aside, I know what you're all wondering: How did the GroVia AIO perform? Well, I tested the GroVia AIO on both of my babies for both day and night time use. Here's the results! TEST BABY 1: Sophia, 23 months, 27lbs My toddler, Sophie, is a whirlwind. She is incredibly active and is always running, leaping, hopping, climbing, and rolling around. This has been the recipe for disaster when it comes to some diapers. As she moves and twists, I have had issues with inserts shifting or bunching, therefore causing leaks. She is also a very heavy wetter. I generally double-up on her inserts during the day and at night. Nonetheless, I decided to try the GroVia with only 1 soaker pad for daytime use. When I put the GroVia AIO on Sophie, I couldn't believe how trim it was! It was incredibly easy to get a great fit, due to the stretchy wing tabs. This diaper is by far the slimmest fitting AIO I have ever encountered! I was even able to fit her skinny jeans over the diaper with no problems at all. (Now THAT is an accomplishment in itself!) Sophie wore this diaper for about 2 hours during the day. She ran and played and also drank milk and juice in this time period. I was a little nervous since I opted to try just one soaker initially. I know my little diva's wetting habits, and I was sure it would leak. Well, I was wrong. Despite the slimness of the soaker pad, it is incredibly absorbent and was able to contain her mess. It was completely saturated, though, but I was expecting that. The outside of the diaper was completely dry to the touch, and there was no irritation on her skin. I also tested the GroVia AIO on Sophie for night time use. Now this mama is no fool, and I wisely snapped in the extra soaker, as Sophie tends to wet very heavily overnight. Again, I experienced no leaks. Even after 10.5 hours of uninterrupted sleep, the diaper remained dry to the touch and the inserts remained in place. I was pretty surprised that such a trim diaper was able to contain Sophie's overnight messes. Usually I have to use a pocket diaper with 2 inserts, making her little bottom appear quite bulky. The GroVia AIO is super trim and performed just as well. Nice! TEST BABY 2: Xander, 10 months, 22lbs Xander, my 10 month old, is my easy baby. He is the happiest, most laid back little sweetheart you'll ever meet. He is the exact opposite of his big sister! She is crazy and always on the go, where Xander is content to just hang out in a much calmer manner. Sure, he is crawling. He is standing as well, and loves walking around the edges of furniture. (He has gotten quite good at it, too!) Before you assume he's just too good to be true, there is one thing that I dread when it comes to my Boobers. The poop. This kid has the worst poop I have ever encountered in my life. It literally smells like something died, and it is always messy. With a Xander in the house, blowouts happen. Often. He always wakes up with a soiled diaper, and many times, that mess has migrated up his back. (Yuck!) I tested the GroVia AIO on Xander during the day at first. Since Xander isn't the heavy wetter his sister is, I was perfectly comfortable using just the attached soaker pad. I was impressed again by the easy, trim fit of the GroVia. This diaper really is super slim fitting, and again, I was able to easily get his pants over the diaper with no issues of bulkiness. Since Xander is a man-in-training, he tends to wet towards the front of his diapers. I was a little worried that there wouldn't be enough padding in this area to absorb his pee. Luckily, this wasn't the case at all. The GroVia AIO did just fine containing his mess during the day, and again, the outside of the diaper remained dry to the touch. Now the REAL test on Xander? Night time. This is when he likes to have his messiest poop explosions. Without fail, he always wakes up a mess. I used the additional snap-in soaker again for overnight use, said a little prayer to the cloth-diaper Gods, and put him to bed. I was delighted in the morning to find that while he DID poop, it did not creep up his back. The great fit of the GroVia AIO kept his mess in his diaper where it belonged! I did notice that due to the fact that the soakers lay on top of the inner of the diaper, they did get quite saturated with poop. This generally does not happen with the pocket diapers I am used to using overnight, as the inserts are stuffed inside and usually don't come into direct contact with the mess. However, while this sight wasn't the prettiest thing to wake up to, I found that the poop washed away easily using a diaper sprayer. Not a big deal at all. And when washing the poopy diaper, it came perfectly clean the first time. This is awesome, since I often have to sun-bleach Xander's soiled diapers to get the staining out. Overall, I love the GroVia AIO Cloth Diaper. It is super-trim fitting, highly absorbent, and worked well on both of my babies. I love the fact that these are side-snap AIO's and are very user-friendly. This diaper is actually one of my husband's favorites because it is so straight-forward. There is no stuffing required and there is no need for a cover of any kind. Just put it on baby and hit the road! I would definitely recommend the GroVia AIO to any cloth diapering families that want an easy to use diaper with premium performance. This would also be the ideal diaper for traveling!
