I am and always have been a bit of a beauty junkie. I love great products that make me look and feel feminine, just the way a woman should. I have tons of various "girly products" as my husband calls them. From skin care to cosmetics to fragrances, I have it all. But one of the absolute best beauty investments for every woman is a collection of good hairbrushes. Seriously! Not all brushes are created equal. They are made of many different materials, and if you don't have brushes that are tailored to your specific hair type, you simply won't achieve the best results. And aside from choosing the best brushes for your hair length, type, and texture, different brushes DO different things! Some are ideal for blow-outs, some are great for product distribution and detangling, some are wonderful for teasing and creating volume. So it really makes sense to own several different brushes to achieve many different styles and keep your locks looking their best!

I will admit, I have a love/hate relationship with my hair. It is very long, very thick, and very wavy. Plus, there is a TON of it! While some people have expressed envy of my hair, I have to be completely honest: It's a pain in the butt. It takes a really lone time to dry, and it is so heavy that I have a hard time getting it to hold a style for long. Luckily, my hair tends to fall into place and look decent with minimal effort. But I have 2 babies that love to pull and tug at my hair, so it usually ends up in a ponytail or messy bun. But there are times that I want to shake things up a bit and style my hair, and I definitely need extra help getting my hair to behave. Especially if I want to achieve a smooth, polished look. This is where a great hairbrush makes all the difference with my hard to manage hair.

That's why I was absolutely thrilled to get the opportunity to review a selection of salon quality brushes from Spornette! Haven't heard of Spornette? Well, they are a leader in high quality salon hairbrushes and have been in business of helping women create gorgeous styles for 60 years! They are a 3rd generation, family owned business, so they really know hair! The folks at Spornette are truly beauty experts, and they have TONS of different brushes to meet every possible need and hair type. (And I do mean TONS!)

I allowed the experts at Spornette to hand select the brushes I would review based on my very long and thick, wavy hair. After all, hair is their business, and I knew they'd be able to choose the perfect ones for my needs. Not to mention the fact that I got lost perusing their vast selection of professional brushes and honestly had no idea which ones to choose!

When my package from Spornette arrived, I was thrilled at the brushes they hand-picked just for me!

The first brush I received was the Spornette Prix Boar Tourmaline Bristle Hair Brush 3.5 Inch (#1311). I cannot say how much I love this brush! It has a unique, hourglass shape, and is fantastic for blowouts! It has Tourmaline bristles that penetrate the hair very effectively, and leave is shiny, supple, and incredibly soft. I often have a hard time getting a brush to get through my hair in one swipe since I have so much of it, but this was not the case at all with this awesome brush. It gripped my hair very well and glided through almost effortlessly. It also gives a ton of volume when using with my blow-dryer for that Hollywood body and Va-Va-Voom look! This is definitely my new go-to brush anytime I want to achieve a full, sexy style that lasts and lasts!

The next brush I'd like to tell you about is the Spornette Porcupine Hair Brush- Boar & Nylon Bristle Rounder- Wooden Handle 4 1/2" (G-36-J). This brush, too, is fantastic for blowouts, as it easily penetrates even damp hair without snagging or causing breakage. It features a combination of nylon and boar bristles, and leaves hair soft and silky while helping to distribute the natural oils to the entire hair shaft, creating healthier, more vibrant looking hair! This brush is also wonderful for achieving big, round curls and loose waves. So glamorous! It's also quite easy to use. I love this brush just as much as their Prix brush! These are absolutely perfect for my very long hair. The folks at Spornette really hit the nail on the head and chose the absolute best brushes for my hair!

The last brush I received is the Spornette Nylon Tipped Wooden Paddle Cushion Hair Brush (#5161). A good paddle brush is an absolute must have for women with all different hair types. It is great for detangling and even damp styling, as the nylon tipped bristles are in a random pattern. The bed of the brush is cushioned and flexible, which makes this brush extremely gentle. This brusg is very versatile, and is great for the even distribution of products like mousse or gels. This awesome brush also has anti-static properties to help prevent annoying flyaways. No one wants that Mad Scientist look! I really like this brush, and I have been using it every single day, especially after showering. It keeps my hair tangle-free, and is very gentle. Big brownie points from me, since I don't have to literally rip through my hair to get the knots out!I would recommend this brush to anyone, since it is ideal for every hair type and length.

Overall, I am thrilled with the superior quality of all 3 of these brushes. They are well constructed and are not flimsy in the least, like many hairbrushes tend to be. I am equally impressed by the fact that these brushed actually allow my difficult hair to hold a style for more than about 20 minutes....even in the middle of a humid, God-awful hot Virginia summer! Spornette gets an A+++ from me, and I will use these wonderful, durable brushes for years to come.

Want to get some Spornette brushes of your own? They have dozens to choose from, and I know you'll be able to find the perfect brushes for your hair, just as I have for mine! And if you need help, the staff at Sponette provides excellent customer service and may even be able to recommend the perfect brush for you!

I learned that their website gives you help in choosing a brush based on the look you are trying to achieve. Perfect!

I found out there is a brush I have always said I wanted; one that helps spread hair product after you put it on.

I learned at the website that in the late 50’s Walter Sporn went to Europe and came back with items he developed into very popular hair brushes for stylists nationwide. Cushion brushes, round boar and round nylon brushes that had been sold by the piece were now sold in attractive point-of-purchase displays that he designed.
Thanks for the contest
