As a parent, I am well aware that kids come up with the funniest, sometimes off-the-wall things to say. I could probably write a book full of things my son has said, especially when he was younger! I love the way a child's mind processes things and rationalizes them. For example, not too terribly long ago this conversation took place between me and Kyle in our kitchen when he wanted some of the Gerber (I think) apple juice, made especially for babies:
  • Kyle: "Mom, can I have some of this apple juice? I'm thirsty!"
  • Me: "No, Kyle. That's made for babies. Have some of the other juice in the fridge."
  • Kyle: "It's for babies? But can't REAL humans drink it, too?" (Totally serious, too!)
Or even better....When Kyle was 3, he was VERY resistant to using the potty. He KNEW what to do, and would make his stuffed animals do it, but HE would have absolutely no part of it! Guess he got his mama's stubborn genes! Anyway, I got him the potty-training video, 'Once Upon A Potty'. In this video, there is a little boy named Joshua. (I think...It's been awhile!) The movie goes on to tell about Joshua's body parts and what they do. A nose to smell with, a mouth to eat and talk with, eyes to see with, a penis for making wee-wee, and a little hole for making poo-poo. (In the video, the cartoon baby then bends over and shows his butt...But not in an obscene manner.)

I was at the local Giant doing some grocery shopping, and two nice, elderly women were talking to me in the aisle. I was talking to one woman about cooking, and Kyle was doing what Kyle does best and was charming the socks off of the other woman. Out of nowhere, I hear Kyle talking about eyes to see, a mouth to eat, etc....I look over, and he had bent over, pulled his Pull-Ups down right in the middle of the store, spread his cheeks, and said "And a little hole for making poo-poo." Oh. My. Gosh. I was MORTIFIED! Luckily, the two ladies who HAD to be in their 70's at least, thought it was a hoot and nearly died laughing!

Yep...Kids say the darndest things....And now, thanks to the new social sharing site, Bnter, you can chronicle and share these conversations! And any other conversations that you'd like, whether they be sappy, sweet, ridiculous, life-changing, or just plain silly. Of course, you should always respect others and ask before sharing.

On Bnter, you can find friends to follow, chat back and forth, and even share your Bnter convos on Facebook, twitter, and Tumblr, all with the click of a button. How cool is that?! And Bnter is SUPER easy to use. I figured it out within 2 minutes and had already started my own unique profile! I had never really thought about the value of sharing everyday conversations before, but I think this is a great idea, especially for parents of small children. I love seeing what funny things other peoples' kids say. It not only gives me one heck of a laugh, it also reassures me that my kids aren't really THAT weird!

So you should hop on over and sign up! You should also follow me there! My kids are always saying something crazy, and if they don't have any words of wisdom, my hubby is pretty entertaining, as well! I think this is a fun new concept in the ever-evolving world of social networking. I look forward to making some more Bnter friends and seeing what they have posted. And you won't have any trouble finding content to add to your Bnter profile. Simply listen to your kids! Or your hubby as he talks nonsense in his sleep. Seriously. This is a LOT of fun! Hope to see you there!
